As is often the case, when we return home from a trip, such as our recent Adirondacks trip, all we want to do is go paddle some more! So, at the suggestion of a friend, we took a day trip to Grout Pond, located about an hour and a half from our house in the Green Mountain National Forest.
The foliage colors on the drive up were fiery and gorgeous. The pond is about 80 acres and does have a dozen or so campsites on the water's edge. This makes for a less than wild feel to the pond, since the sites are heavily used. The fall foliage made the trip worthwhile and we had a pleasant enough paddle, but I don't think either of us feels a great need to return to Grout Pond.
I've included a small collection of photos from our paddle around the pond. Enjoy!
